Amiko McPherson, LPC-MHSP, Personal Biography

 

I am passionate about working with children and adolescents and have the privilege of working with the adolescent population in the IOP setting at the Middle Path. I strive to empower clients to find their purpose and live a life worth living. What I love most about Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is that it offers a holistic approach for creating wellness and balance to the lives of our clients, as well as, assist clients in embracing the inner strengths they possess.  

 

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lipscomb University in 2011 and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2016. I became a licensed professional counselor, mental health service provider in the state of Tennessee in January 2020. Over the last 3 years I have had the privilege to work with children, adolescents, and their families in a variety of settings. I have experience working at the Next Door. I have also spent time working with clients in the outpatient setting with Omni Community Health. In addition, to working towards certification in DBT, I am a certified in child parent psychotherapy.
